Calendar Launcher - Privacy Policy

What the extension does

Calendar Launcher is a Chrome extension that displays upcoming Google Calendar events and opens meeting links at the scheduled time.

Data collected

  • Email address - Retrieved via Chrome's identity API to filter calendar events you've accepted and to set the correct account on Google Meet links.
  • OAuth token - Used to access your Google Calendar. On Google Chrome it is obtained via Chrome's identity API and sent only to Google's API. On other Chromium browsers (Brave, Edge, Arc, Opera, Vivaldi), sign-in uses the standard OAuth authorization-code flow, and the authorization code and refresh token are sent to our backend at kanary.download solely to exchange them with Google for an access token. No calendar data passes through the backend, and your tokens are not stored on the backend.
  • Calendar event data - Event titles, times, and meeting URLs are fetched from Google Calendar's API.

How data is stored

Calendar event data and tokens are stored locally on your device using Chrome's storage API. On Google Chrome, no data is sent to any server other than Google's API. On other Chromium browsers, only the OAuth authorization code and refresh token are sent to the kanary.download backend for the sole purpose of obtaining a Google access token; no calendar data passes through it and tokens are not retained server-side.

Data sharing

Your data is not sold, transferred, or shared with any third party.

Data retention

Cached event data is refreshed periodically and cleared when you sign out.
